WORTH IT! We use our laser in the garage. No window to exhaust through, door is too far away, and I don't want to always crack the garage bay door.
Enter - the Smoke Purifier. I use this in conjunction with the Enclosure (also worth the money). With the two, all (yes ALL) the smoke is eliminated, and the odor is probably reduced to 20-30% potency than without - which makes the garage habitable even while in use, and all the doors closed. Cotton filters wash easy. When used with the enclosure, I don't need to put the Purifier past 20-30%, which keeps the running volume down while doing other tasks.
Yes this thing is pricy, but I don't think we'd be able to operate without it.
*Using with the enclosure does cause some flex in the enclosure.
The air purifier works well, but to get the best results, you really need to pair it with an enclosure. If you’re running your laser for 3-5 hours a day, especially for cutting, I’d recommend using a well-ventilated space instead—otherwise, you’ll end up replacing filters quite frequently. If you’re handy, you might even consider making your own filter to save costs!
