I'm a total beginner in laser engraving, and craftmanship in general. Bought it to do color engraving on stainless steel, and because it was already built.
worked right away. instruction were crystal clear. You just have to follow the paper guides or the pdf on the sd card
Eventhough I'm a beginner, it took me only 4-5 tries to succeed color engraving using lightburn.
On the down side, for beginners, I would have loved a mesuring mat sold as an accessory, made for it. It's quite hard to make the link between what is shown and the screen and the real working area. And the laser is sitting quite close to the object and is obstructed by its casing. So when you do the framing with lightburn, it's quite hard to see where it will actually work. And, 0,0 is not a the physical corner of the device, so you have to had an offset if you work with absolute coordinate.
However, I believe I would have encountered this issue in any other engraver.
It would have been great help to have a mat that takes the feet as reference point, and works as a mesuring mat for the working area.
I will end up building it myself, but I would have loved to have the thing ready upon arrival and just start using it.
